Now in beta: “Is it down?” answered like an on-call engineer

“Is it down?” answered like an on-call engineer is now in beta on Duscode. What it does and how it is proven.

“Is it down?” answered like an on-call engineer is now in beta on Duscode: usable today, and still being proven on real work.

What it does (in beta)

  • Ask “is the site down?” or “users can’t log in” in chat, Watch, Slack or Teams (in beta).
  • Dus checks from outside, finds the deploy that explains it, and tells you whether it is an outage, a deploy blip or one person’s problem (in beta).

How it is proven

Tests replay a real incident (site up, two merges with a migration 13 minutes earlier, a follow-main timer) with a fake network and git, the re-check after a deploy window, an outage, one user’s message, access levels, recurring blips, and the zero-downtime switch script against fake systemd, curl and Caddy (in beta).

Every capability, its stage and how it is proven is on the capabilities page.

How Duscode works

Reason. Decide. Build. Dus does the engineering and checks his own work; you make the owner’s calls.

Your engineering team, ready when you are.

Duscode builds, ships and looks after your software, and asks you only what an owner decides.
