Pricing and plans
Duscode's plans. Pro, Max and Team include AI usage each month, in pounds; Bring your own key costs less. Credits, top-ups, the trial, and running out.
Pro, Max and Team include AI usage every month. Usage is shown in pounds ("£4.20 used"), never as tokens. Dus routes each task to the cheapest model that can do it well, so the usage goes further. If you'd rather use your own provider keys, Bring your own key costs less and includes no usage.

Credits
- 1 credit is £0.01 of usage at Duscode's prices: the provider's published price plus our margin, which covers card fees, exchange rates and running the service. Each task's receipt shows what it cost.
- Included credits come with your plan each month and renew with it. What's left at renewal doesn't carry over.
- Top-ups: £10, £25 or £50, from Settings → Usage. Bought credits last 12 months. Included credits are spent first.
- Auto top-up is off unless you turn it on, in Settings → Usage. You choose the pack and a monthly limit, and it never charges past that limit.
- Refunds: you can ask for a refund of bought credits you haven't used. Used credits and included credits aren't refundable.
- Team credits are pooled across the team. Only the owner tops up.
Duscode Fast, Standard and Max
On credits, Dus uses three tiers. Each one is answered by a real model, and Duscode always names it: in the model picker, and in what Dus tells you about itself.
- Duscode Fast: easy tasks. Auto starts here.
- Duscode Standard: normal work.
- Duscode Max: hard tasks, and when Dus is stuck.
Routing works the same way on credits as it does on your own keys (see Routing and costs). Two features are off on credits because their cost can't be capped before a call:
- the provider's own web search (Dus's
web_fetchstill works); - server-side model fallback.
When credits run low
- Always in sight: while you're on credits, the spend chip on the right of the top bar shows your balance, for example $1.20 today · £8.40 credits. It follows a long task as it goes. Click it for today, yesterday, this week and this month, today's spend by project, and Open Usage for Settings → Usage.
- At 80% used: the chip turns amber and you get an email. Once per period.
- At 100%: Dus finishes the step it's on. It never stops in the middle of an edit. Then it pauses and asks:
- The chip turns red and reads Out of credits.
- Buy £10 credits: opens a secure checkout, and Dus carries on once the payment has gone through.
- Switch to Economy: carries on with Duscode Fast, which may fit what's left.
- Use my own key: carries on with a model on your own provider key, billed by that provider.
- Stop here: the task ends. Everything so far stays, and can be undone.
Limits that protect you
Every call on credits is checked before it runs:
- Prepaid only. Dus never runs a call your balance can't cover. It sets aside the most the call could cost, then charges what it actually cost and gives back the rest.
- Daily and per-task limits stop a runaway task from spending a month's credits in an afternoon.
- Your budget in Settings → Budgets still applies.
The free trial
Free accounts can start £1 of credits, once, from Settings → Usage in the app. It needs a verified email address, and there's one trial per person and per computer. It lasts 30 days.
Your own keys
On any plan, keys you add in Settings → Models & keys stay on your computer, and calls with them go straight to the provider. Duscode adds no markup to those calls and never sees your provider bill.
During early access
Duscode is in invite-only early access. Credits switch on once billing opens at cloud.duscode.com. Until then, Settings → Plans & billing shows the plans and Settings → Usage shows your spend on your own keys.
How plans work
- You choose a plan in Settings → Plans & billing, which opens Stripe's checkout. To change or cancel a live plan, use Stripe's billing portal.
- Plan changes take effect at the next renewal. A top-up covers the meantime.
- Your plan is checked with a signed licence that works offline. If Duscode can't reach the cloud for a few days, it falls back to Free, never to nothing.
