Using the workspace

Learn: help inside Duscode

Open Learn with F1 for guides on the screen you're on. It takes you to the right place, shows you each step in the app, and lets you ask Dus about it.

Learn is the help built into Duscode. It opens beside your work, so you can follow a guide while you do it. Every guide comes from these docs.

Open Learn

  • Click Help at the bottom of the sidebar, or open your profile menu → Help → Learn.
  • Press F1, or Shift+? when you're not typing.
  • Click your profile at the bottom of the sidebar, choose Help, then Learn.

Learn opens as a panel on the right, beside your work. On a smaller window it opens over the chat, and on a phone it fills the screen.

Esc closes the panel. When you open it again, you're back where you were.

Find a guide

Learn's home has three parts:

  • For this screen: the guides for where you are. That can be the chat, the work pane's Editor, Preview, Terminal or Tests, each Settings section, Project details, Files, Search, Git, Projects or Platform.
  • All topics: the whole library by topic, in the same sections as these docs.
  • Search: searches every guide as you type, even offline. Guides whose title matches come first.

A guide opens in the panel. Related guides and topics open there too, and Back returns to where you were.

Take me there

Take me there moves the workspace to the right place for the guide, for example Settings → Vault or the Preview. The guide stays open beside it.

Show me

Show me walks you through a guide's steps in the app itself. A pointer moves to each control, with the step as a caption. When it's your turn, it waits until you've done the step (for example, until the menu is open) before it moves on.

  • The caption has Pause, Resume, Skip step and Stop.
  • It pauses on its own when you click or type somewhere else.
  • Esc stops it.
  • With reduced motion, the pointer jumps instead of gliding. Set it in Settings → General → Motion, or with your system's setting.

Show me never clicks, types or decides anything for you. You do each step yourself.

Ask Dus about this

Ask Dus about this puts a question about the guide into the message box, without sending it. Edit it to ask Dus about your own project, then send it when you're ready.

Explanations beside decisions

A small i button sits beside a few decisions. Click it for a short explanation and Read the guide, which opens the full guide in Learn. You'll find one:

  • beside the section title in Settings → Models & keys (Auto routing), Vault, Budgets, Scheduled jobs and Permissions
  • beside Branch (isolated sessions), Sandbox and Tests (gate) in Project details
  • on an approval card for an owner decision, such as a first deploy
  • in the Create scheduled job dialog

The permission mode menu ends with What each mode allows, and the model picker with How Auto chooses: each opens its guide.

The same words as these docs

Every guide in Learn is generated from these docs, so the app and duscode.com/docs always say the same thing. Open in the docs on a guide opens its page on this site.
